In the summer of 1990, with Ireland in the grip of World Cup fever, Bob took his first job in a Dublin travel agency, and still has the same passion for travel to this day.
An avid motorcyclist, some of Bob’s most memorable travel moments have been travelling around Europe, visiting old friends and new spots on the back of his motorbike. “It’s a terrific way to explore little nooks that you wouldn’t dream of driving to”. With a hobby that requires a high level of preparation before setting off on a border-crossing journey, and more than 30 years of experience working in the travel industry under his belt, Bob knows exactly what it takes to plan and execute a seamless holiday.
Selling over half a million holidays through his travel brands, Bob has turned his passion for exploring the world into a suite of successful businesses. Noticing a gap in Irish travel companies’ tailored luxury holiday offerings, Bob got together with some friends in the industry and OROKO was born. “For the previous number of years, I’d been asked more and more about tailored holidays and had to refer these clients to UK specialist operators, so I really felt it was time to keep the business closer to home.”
